Camps
1
We operate two seasonal base camps on the Ganges from October to June each year; Ganga River base camp, near Rishikesh from September until the end of April and Tons River base camp from May to June.
Large tents with camp beds, a table and chairs, safari showers and toilets ensure luxury camping in a pristine river setting of silver sands on the Ganges and amidst the pine forests of the Tons
These base camps are the nerve centre of a variety of outdoor activities – white water rafting, canoeing/kayaking, abseiling/rappelling, rock climbing, bouldering, bird watching, angling and day hikes to nearby hill villages or a yoga session on the banks of the Ganges.  Many of our longer treks or multi-day river trips originate or end at these base camps.  Our corporate team building exercises are also conducted from these camps

Ganga packages
These trips are based from the Himalayan River Runners’ semi - permanent camp on the Ganga, which is 250 Km north of Delhi and 17Km east of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. The tented camp is located on the largest pristine silver sand river beach in the area, next to the emerald green waters of the Ganga. Surrounded by thick forests, abounding in a variety of bird and animal life its tranquillity makes for a perfect weekend getaway from Delhi to calm overworked nerves. A trip to the camp also makes a convenient extension to other programmes in the area.

The Tons Summer Camp
The Himalayan River Runners’ Tons base camp is 160Km from Shimla and 140 Km from Mussorie. It is an ideal summer getaway for the entire family, in the wilds, with a range of activities for everyone. There is white water rafting on the “river without peer”, long swims in idyllic forest pools, bird watching, rock climbing and abseiling/rappelling in addition to mountain biking and day or overnight hikes. We organise moderate and mild family oriented treks that form interesting circuits around the old British Forest Rest Houses in the area. Some of the well known treks in the HRR repertoire that originate from the Tons base camp are the challenging Buran Pass, the moderate Ruinsara and many other alpine meadow treks like Kedar Kantha.
Season :1st May to 1st July
Special group packages will be posted on our website in due course
