Some
avid bird watchers have given us the opportunity to consider this
activity seriously and encourage it among our staff and customers.
Erika Wilson and Nan Leininger from American Embassy in New Delhi
helped us compile comprehensive birding lists over the last two
years at both our fixed base camps - on
the Ganges as well as the Tons. You may visit us only for the
purpose of birding or combine this with some other adventure
activity at our camps. On three separate visits to the Ganges base camp in Oct 97', May 98' and Feb 99' - a total of 95 species of birds was observed. Whereas two separate visits to the Tons Camp in June 98' and May 99' led to a list of a total of 114 species observed in an altitude range from 500-2500 meters from Dehradun to Tons Camp plus some local trekking.
